A mode to use natural daylight, but to ensure minimum light times using the LEDs when needed would be great. The amount of ambient light could be checked using a photo sensor.

For example:
During the time frames where light should shine, check a photosensor. If the lumen is above x then dimm the LED down. If the lumen is below y then dimm the LED up.

A potential Problem would be a leaf shadowing the photo sensor -_-
